Faculty Quirks

My office is in the center of a large suite that has several faculty offices, a copy room, and a conference room off of it.

Every time a faculty member has a meeting in the conference room, they always leave the door wide open and are always really loud. It bothers me, but I get over it because in the grand scheme of things it’s not that big of a deal.

The funny thing is that inevitably, halfway through the meeting someone comes in my office for help, or I get a phone call, which requires me to be slightly louder than a mouse.

Every time this happens, the faculty member suddenly realizes that I exist, and that I have an office just through the door of the conference room. Then, they get up and close the door like it’s the biggest annoyance on the planet.

My job amuses me. A lot.
