…Darth Dominic

and Rebecca, Princess of Noses

went on a trip to Dallas to visit Princess Rebecca’s sister, Kinder the Beautiful

and her husband, Han Solo’s Crotch.

Just kidding. Her husband’s name is actually Robert and he is magical. So magical in fact, that when someone attempts to take a picture of him, he completely disappears on film. It’s amazing! But since there are no pictures of him known to exist, Han Solo’s Crotch will have to do as a substitute, even if it does belong to a scruffy-looking nerf-herder.
In Dallas, Kinder the Beautiful and Robert the Magical showed their newly acquired and recently refurbished castle to Darth Dominic and Princess Rebecca. Darth Dominic, who is not easily impressed, bore the tour well and even commented a bit on the choice of decor. Princess Rebecca adored the interior, and knew in her heart that Kinder the Beautiful would be the next Lady Bird, setting the standards for interior decorating for the entire Empire of Texas, located in a galaxy far, far away. Princess Rebecca found herself insanely jealous of the castle and the lifestyle of Kinder the Beautiful and Robert the Magical, and knowing that jealousy leads to the Dark Side of the force and thus to suffering, kept her comments simple so as to keep herself from suffering, and from force-choking everyone around her.
After the tour, there was a brief luncheon, followed by a trip to Ft. Worth to see the Star Wars Exhibit at the Museum of Science and Technology. Robert the Magical opted out of the excursion, because he had to do some magical cleaning and magical work on his magical castle.
The force was not with Darth Dominic, Princess Rebecca of Noses, nor Kinder the Beautiful when they arrived at the museum. There was a long line, which involved a long wait.

To pass the time, the trio took pictures of pickled sea creatures, like this one.

Finally, they made it into the vestibule which led to the exhibit, only to find that the exhibit itself was bleeding out into the vestibule.

When they finally got into the exhibit, they turned the corner and saw this

followed by a bunch of other stuff like all of these:

Kinder got her picture taken with her favorite Giant Walking Carpet

while Princess Rebecca got her picture made with her favorite Kinder.

Darth Dominic just got to take lots of cool pictures like this one.

The trio had a great time, and after a long day of taking it all in, headed back to the magical castle, picked up Robert the Magical, and headed to dinner at El Phoenix for some tasty Mexican Food.

Let me just take this brief moment to be a complete hypocrite and say that all the people on my sidebar need to blog more. So I can have something fun to read.
Because I can’t wait for NaBloPoMo, so get to it!

So Dom is working on updating his resume and has given it to me for revisions and suggestions.
One suggestion I made was the following sentence:
“I have turned bleeding-edge technology into profit and can do it again.”
Dominic then said the following to me over AIM regarding the sentence:
[16:11] uthrom: a part of me likes the ballsy-ness of your “capabilities” paragraph
[16:12] uthrom: “I have done it, and I’ll do it again, BITCHES!”
[16:13] uthrom: HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!! ninja attack jump
[16:13] uthrom: Sorry
[16:14] uthrom: That would be how it would look, if that paragraph was anime.
No wonder I’m in love.

I’m going to do a stupid meme today because it may actually turn out interesting, even though they rarely do. Here’s to hoping.
Eight Things You Don’t Know About Me.
1.) I’m afraid of the dark if I’m inside a building. My grandmother’s house at night is especially creepy, because it’s old and creaky.
If I’m outside, I love the dark. Why? Just look up.
2.) I used to have a cartilage piercing. My mom tried to pull it out once while I was sleeping. It got irritated and infected from the yanking and tugging, and I finally had to take it out and let the hole close up. I miss it. Maybe I’ll get another one.
3.) I have a secret love for polka dots.
4.) I have a secret love for polka music. Just kidding! But I really do have a secret love for twangy bluegrass music.
5.) In the winter time, I usually go for weeks without shaving my legs, cause, what’s the point? I’d rather be lazy.
6.) If you think my secret love for Jeff Goldblum is weird, wait to you’ll read this. When I was 12, I had an unexplainable crush on Charlie Sheen. I have NO IDEA why. Seriously, I’ve been weird from the get-go.
7.) My favorite alcoholic beverage is bourbon neat. But it has to be a good bourbon, like Woodford Reserve.
8.) I have never lost at Star Wars Trivial Pursuit.
There. Now your life is complete. Bloggers, feel free to do your own meme, so that we can all feel like we know each other a little less superficially.

I tend to blink when people take pictures of me, so I always look like I’m squinting, or like I’m stoned.
Dominic got tired of it and decided to take matters into his own hands.

Yes. It was the decade when women went through a can of Aqua Net each day and walked like Egyptians in their Egyptian-style make up.
People wore socks over their jeans, and leg warmers were a fashion trend. So were Reebok high tops.
::Shudder::
However, the 80s did produce some incredible things, like Hair Bands, the movie Labyrinth, and the cartoon we all know and love, Transformers. Even as I write this, “Transformers, robots in disguise” still echoes in my mind.
Dom got tix for us to go with some friends to see Transformers the movie tonight.
I’m stoked. It’s going to be off the hook. With all this 80s stuff I’ve been filling my mind with lately, I just may have to dig out my crazy eye shadow and rubber bangle bracelets.
Then again, maybe I won’t.

Marci just told me that the person responsible for the package-waving, pelvic thrusting “Dance Magic” sequence featuring David Bowie in Labyrinth was choreographed by none other than Gates McFadden. As in Dr. Beverly Crusher.
Creepy.
Apparently she choreographed the “Chilly Down” sequence as well, which is equally weird, just not as disgusting.
I bet you didn’t know that David Bowie was one of three choices for the role of Jareth in Labyrinth. The other two were Sting and (not at all surprising) Michael Jackson.
I know I’ve written a lot lately about Labyrinth, so to cheer you up, I’ll leave you with this parting thought.

So I went to see Labyrinth with Marci yesterday.
Every time the package made an appearance, the ENTIRE AUDIENCE busted out laughing.
The big screen made it unavoidable. That’s all I’m saying.

I read this blog entry and felt so much better about having noticed the said characteristic which nuclear boy so carefully pointed out in the second picture in this entry.
When I was 5 years old I noticed It and It really scared/bothered/worried/unnerved me. It still does because, ewwww!
But I like the movie so I watch it nonetheless, and shamelessly laugh every time It makes an appearance on the screen. It’s like an entire separate character. It should be listed on Its own as part of the cast. If you don’t believe me, watch the movie.
I am preparing myself to be even more scared/bothered/worried/unnerved, because there’s a chance I’ll go see it with Marci on Sunday on a big screen at Dobie.
I’ll let you know how it goes.
