They didn't get blown away.

Last night I was wrestling with myself over school. Finally, I decided to drop my class and take a break this semester. I’ve got a lot going on in my life right now and have no energy or passion available to spend on school. I will go back this summer, but this spring I will focus on getting other areas of my life settled, and getting my health back to where it needs to be.
In the midst of all of that, I took a hot bath, ate dinner, checked the primary results online, and spent a little time hanging out with one of my roommates.
I didn’t turn on the tv.
When I woke up this morning, I checked the weather and that’s when I learned that tornadoes had ravaged part of my home state, Arkansas. My stomach immediately relocated itself, taking up residence in my throat.
I got ready for work and headed in. I decided it would be best to wait to call my mom until a little later in the morning because if she didn’t answer, I’d just freak out.
I called her at 7:30 AM and she was busy getting my niece and nephew ready for school. She just called back a little while ago and said that everyone was ok, the storms barely missed them. If the squall line had gone a little more due east and a little less north, they would have been right in the middle of it.
And I’d be on my way home this morning.
I looked at a map and my best estimate is that the southern most tip of the storm passed just 25 miles north of my hometown, sparing all my relatives.
My heart goes out to everyone who lost loved ones in the tornadoes. I can’t imagine what they must be feeling.
